Snacks
- Bone Broth, when you’re checked into the hospital, you’ll likely be placed on a liquid diet until you give birth. Bone broth is a nourishing, nutrient-rich option to sip on when hunger strikes, keeping you fueled and satisfied.
- Other snack ideas (post-birth): bars, nut butter packets, oatmeal, rolls or bread, pretzels
Clothing
- Cozy pajamas, nursing friendly
- Going home outfit, such as joggers, maternity tank, & sweatshirt
- A robe or open sweater
- Nursing bras (x2)
- Full coverage undies (x4)
- Compression socks
- Grip socks (x2)
- Slippers or flipflops
Toiletries
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Shampoo, conditioner, & body wash
- Deodorant
- Hair ties or clips
- Hairbrush
- Chapstick, dry lips are common at the hospital
- Nipple cream or nipple shields

- Pillow & blanket, to make your bed a little cozier
- Chargers, bring an extended cord or portable charger (outlets can be hard to reach)
- Portable mini fan, for labor, your stroller, & travel
- Speaker or headphones
- Electrolyte packs
- Water bottle
- Breastfeeding pillow
- Eye mask, even when the lights are off, it won’t be dark
- Heating pad, can be helpful during contractions & after labor to ease cramping
- Diffuser, ensure the essential oils you choose are safe for labor
Postpartum Care
Your hospital may or may not provide the care items below—consider calling ahead to check what will be available to you.
- Disposable underwear
- Peri bottle
- Perineal cooling pads & liners
Baby
- Onesies or pajamas (x4)
- Swaddles, we love velcro swaddles for foolproof swaddling (x2)
- A going-home outfit, with multiple layers, including socks and hat
- Baby nail clippers and file
- A box of formula, we recommend keeping a box in your diaper bag just in case
Support Partner
Clothing
- Closed-toe shoes (in the rare chance a C-section is needed, wear closed-toe shoes)
- Change of shoes or sandals
- A change of clothes (x2)
